BLUE ON BLUE DEBUTS "GROOVE ON BLUE" HAPPY HOUR DJ SERIES AND WELCOMES THE RETURN OF SUNDAY DETOX/RETOX
- DJ Grand Marquee spins poolside at Avalon Beverly Hills all summer long -
(BEVERLY HILLS, CA; June 18, 2009)As the mercury rises this
summer, blue on bluethe stunning mid-century restaurant at
Avalon Beverly Hillsoffers two hot new ways to cool down in
style. Starting Thursday, May 7, blue on blue invites Angelenos
to "Groove on Blue," a poolside happy hour set to the sounds of
DJ Grand Marquee. Spinning a mix of electro and indie music
every Thursday night from 7-10 pm, diners can repose by the
hour-glass shaped pool and enjoy signature drink and food
specials for just $8 each. Featured "Groove on Blue" cocktails
will include the signature Blue Avalon and a weekly Groove Punch
crafted with house-infused alcohol and freshly squeezed juices
made from blue on blue's rooftop garden and local farmers'
market ingredients. Executive Chef Scott Garrett will also offer
a menu of "Groove on Blue" small plates available for $8 each
including mini bacon-cheese burgers with cheddar, smoked bacon,
and garlic aioli; frito misto with shrimp, artichoke, and
calamari; and smoked salmon with cucumber, crispy lavosh, crème
fraiche, and fried capers.
Keeping the groove going all summer long, DJ Grand Marquee will
also spin poolside as Detox/Retox returns to blue on blue on
Sunday, May 24, from 2-8 pm. This weekly event entices guests
to either "Detox" from their weekend with a menu of hangover
cures, healthful smoothies, and spa-style beverages or keep the
party going with the "RetoX" portion of the menu featuring
late-night fare, bloody marys, and mimosas. DJ Grand Marquee
will set the tone for Detox/Retox 2009 with an eclectic mix of
French and European lounge music mixed with sounds from the '70s
and '80s.

For the ultimate Groove on Blue and Detox/Retox
experience, groups are invited to rent one of blue on blue's
coveted poolside cocktail or dining cabanas, which seat up to 10
guests comfortably. Cabana rentals are $150 and include a $500
food and beverage minimum.
blue on blue is open 7-days a week for breakfast from 7:00 am
to 11:30 am, lunch from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm, bar menu from
2:30 pm to 12:00 midnight, and for dinner from 6:00 pm to
11:00 pm Brunch is also offered every Saturday and Sunday from
7:00 am to 2:30 pm and the "Kick the Blues" happy hour is
available Monday through Friday, 4:00 to 8:00 pm Valet parking
